How To: Start A New Project
Open Premiere
At the project screen select either
-PAL STANDARD 48Mhz
-Multimedia Video for Windows

How To: Rename A Bin
Right click on the bin you want to rename, rename as desired

How To: Create A New Bin
Right click in the bin window, left click on new bin, rename as desired

How To: Put Your Media on the Timeline
Left click and drag your clips to the appropriate timeline track

How To: Rename Your Tracks
Click on the top right black triangle on the timeline
Go to timeline window options
Rename as desire

How To: Set Your Workspace Area on your Timeline
Use the yellow bar at the top of the timeline to define your workspace area on your timeline

How To: Change the volume of your music
Expand the music track with the black triangles to the left
Put key frames where you want the music to be affected
Raise or lower as desire to next key frame

How To: Add the Default Transition
Place leading clip on Track 1A, place ending clip on Track 1B, be sure to overlap the tracks by three seconds.
Position cursor on timeline in the middle of the overlap
Use the shortcut key CTRL+D to place the default transition

How To: Apply a Transition
Place leading clip on Track 1A, place ending clip on Track 1B, be sure to overlap the tracks by three seconds.
Drag a transition from the transition bin to the timeline transition track

How To: How To Change A Transition
Double left click the transition on the timeline
Change the direction of the Arrow

How To: View The Source Image in the Transition Window
Double click the transition icon on the timeline
Tick the box that says, “view source images”


How To: View the Transition
In the transition window, use the sliders to view your transition REMEMBER to set them back to start point before you close the transition window

How To: Disable a Track
Untick the eyeball for the track on the far left

How To: Lock a Track
Put a tick in the middle box, placing a lock image in the box

How To: Ripple Delete
Right click in the empty space between two clips, left click on Ripple Delete

How To: Cut Something out of a Clip
Move your cursor to the beginning of the portion you want to cut
Hit F10 at the top of the keyboard
Move your cursor to the end of the section you want to cut out
Hit F10 at the top of the keyboard
Left click on the section you want to delete
Hit the DELETE key on the keyboard
Ripple Delete the empty area

How To: Understand the Premiere Movie Making Process
1. open/create project
2. create/rename bins as appropriate
3. import media
4. drag media to timeline
5. edit as desired
6. set your workspace area on your timeline
7. Export your movie

Hit F1 at the top of the keyboard

How To: Export Your Movie
Click on FILE->EXPORT->TIMELINE->MOVIE
Choose proper settings
Rename as desire

How To: Save Your Project
Click on FILE->SAVE

How To: Capture Video
Open the video capture window FILE->CAPTURE
click on the REWIND button to move to the correct start of your footage (may or may not be the start of the tape)
Click the PLAY button
Click the RECORD button
When finished, hit STOP on the screen (or hit ESC on the keyboard)
