After Effects Filters

Layer One:

0.7 pixel blur using the FAST BLUR filter (this will soften the aliasing of DV)

Layer Two:

0.1 REDUCE INTERLACE filter (further helps the ridgidity of DV alias)

Layer Three:

75% COLOR BALANCE (HLS) filter (kills the chroma bloom of DV)

Layer Four:

63.2% EGUALIZE filter (creates a nice luma depth similar to tele-cine level adjustment - needs some gentle tweaking depending on the imagery) users judgement

Layer Five:

COLOR BALANCE filter (User's discretion, but can simulate some fantastic monochromatic treatments) I am a fan of colbat blue and greens for that David Fincher Effect

Layer Six:

BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST filter (one last tweak of your own discretion)

Layer Seven:

98.4% threshold/100% glow radius/.6 intensity GLOW filter (the icing on the cake, creates that soft luma halo that multi-processed film has after painstaking temperature experimentation)

There it is folks. Now go play :)
I look forward to seeing what kinds of results you can cook up. I've had a lot fo success with a drag and drop approach to a broad range of shots with these filters. usually takes only a few minor adjustments to make a refined image.

P.S. TURN OFF FIELDS! otherwise this will look like jittered crap and never bump your frame position to an uneven pixel, hideous!
